Beginning June 1, 2025, all Math major advising (upper and lower division) will be carried out by the College of Science Student Success Center.

Being a Math Major

So you want to major in math? Welcome to the Math Major at 91ÁÔÆæ [pdf] gives you information about math courses and degree options, possible careers, plus helpful tips about how to succeed in your course of study. Math Outside the Classroom

There are Professional Organizations - if you are interested in becoming a student member of the professional mathematics organizations, check their websites for more information. Note that the 91ÁÔÆæ Math Department is an institutional member of SIAM so that graduate students may join SIAM at no charge.

You can advance your mathematical experience by looking at InternshipsConferences, and social networks such as , even while being an undergraduate. Afterwards, if you are thinking about graduate school, see Graduate School Workshop [pdf] and information about graduate studies.

Career Center

The Career Center can help you prepare your resume, write cover letters, find jobs and internships.

Writing Center

The Writing Center is open to all 91ÁÔÆæ students who need help with written communications. 

Peer Connections

Free tutoring for lower division courses, Math 39, and Math 133A is available at Peer Connections. The Math Department also offers free tutoring for lower division and some upper division courses in MH 221 during the academic year.

College of Science Student Success Center (CoS SSC)

College of Science Student Success Center (CoS SSC) provides academic advising. All science majors are welcome to make an appointment for assistance and information regarding their College of Science major and related 91ÁÔÆæ academic and student services.

Exploratory Student Success Center

The provides academic advising for Undeclared students.
