Contact an Advisor
Major Advising
Beginning June 1, 2025, all Math major advising (upper and lower division) will be carried out by the College of Science Student Success Center. For routine advising, including advising hold removal, please contact the Success Center.
How do I get my advising hold removed?
Refer to CoS-SSC protocol for hold removal. This may require attending an Advising Workshop or advising appointment with your CoS-SSC Advisor.
What do I need to change my major to math?
If you are interested in changing your major to math, see the general information provided on our FAQ page. Then visit the College of Science's Change of Major Applications page for deadline information and application links.
Former Student Advising
CoS-SSC provides advising to former students through the βFormer Student Returning (FSR)β service. Students who were disqualified from their College of Science major and/or are active assigned "Undeclared" students can also utilize this service.
If you run into enrollment issues or have questions like these:
- Why can't I enroll in a particular Math Course?
- Do I have to take a Math Workshop?
- When I try to enroll in a class it says that I don't meet the prerequisites. (The error message usually states "requisites have not been met." Determine whether it is a Co-requisite or Pre-requisite.)
Please first read the resources on this website (typically under Courses and more specifically, under Calculus, Deiscrete Math, and Business Math) and if your question is still not answered, contact the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Office.
