University Personnel's Organizational Development & Enrichment Program (ODEP) team is excited to introduce a New Employee Ambassador Program at San José State University. The new program is designed to help new hires, such as faculty and staff, transition into our university community as smoothly and welcomingly as possible. Starting a new role can be both exhilarating and overwhelming, and our New Employee Ambassador Program is here to provide new employees with support, guidance, and a friendly face by pairing them with a long term employee who will be their ambassador.
Become an Ambassador – Help Shape the Future of Our 91ÁÔÆæ Employees!
Are you passionate about making a difference at 91ÁÔÆæ? The Ambassador Program is your chance to connect with a new employee and help them feel at home from day one! As an ambassador, you'll be paired with a new employee for their first two months to show them the ropes, share insights, and help them thrive at 91ÁÔÆæ.
This is more than just a welcoming gesture – it's about creating a sense of belonging, fostering community, and embracing 91ÁÔÆæ's amazing culture. Plus, you'll gain valuable leadership skills, create lasting connections, and be an integral part of shaping a positive, supportive workplace for all.
Here's the criteria of who can be an Ambassador:
- Must be a current employee (Manager, Faculty or regular staff) who has a good understanding of the university community.
- Has worked at 91ÁÔÆæ for at least one (1) year or more.
- Willing to volunteer at least eight (8) hours of their time during a two (2) month time commitment in order to be accessible and partner/support a new employee.
- The qualities that make for a great ambassador - resourceful, friendly, positive, knowledgeable and patient.
