The tale is told by Xua24 Ph?i33xo31 华丕和 (HPH), a retired village government official known for his storytelling. It arose spontaneously during an evening’s conversation with Phv?33 Z?24??44 普玉仙 (PYX) and Khu?i44 Li24 奎丽 (KL), who also join in at various points. This narration was recorded in December 2012 in Xingmeng.
