Celebration of Future Educators
Since 2018, the Connie L. Lurie College of Education has hosted the Celebration of Future Educators, an annual event dedicated to recognizing and inspiring the next generation of transformative educators.
We partner with local middle schools, high schools, community colleges, and San José State University faculty, inviting educators to nominate students who embody the passion, leadership, and commitment needed to make a lasting impact in education.
To date, we have honored more than 400 outstanding nominees, each recognized for their potential to shape the future of education. As part of this celebration, recipients are awarded a $1,000 scholarship that can be applied toward any Lurie College of Education credential program, helping them take the next step on their journey to becoming educators.
Together, we are building a stronger, more diverse pipeline of future teachers who will inspire and transform communities for generations to come.
Nominations set to re-open January 2027 - stay tuned for updates and additional details on the 10th Annual Celebration of Teaching coming 2027!
