Welcome to AI Literacy Essentials for All Spartans! This short, self-paced course will help you understand what artificial intelligence is, how to use it responsibly, and how it can support your success at 91ÁÔÆæ and beyond.

What You’ll Learn

This course includes four core modules. Each one introduces a different aspect of AI literacy and builds toward confident, informed, and responsible use of AI tools in your academic and professional life.

  • Module 1: Exploring AI - What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Start Using It
Build a clear understanding of what artificial intelligence is and how generative AI tools work. Consider how AI is beginning to shape education, and explore some of the tools and terms you’ll encounter throughout the course.

  • Module 2: Using AI Responsibly: Ethics, Integrity, and Academic Success
Examine how to make thoughtful, ethical decisions when using AI — including when and how it’s appropriate to use AI in your coursework, and how to appropriately cite or disclose your use of AI tools.

  • Module 3: Using AI to Support Your Learning, Writing, and Critical Thinking Together
Practice strategies for using AI to read actively, organize your thinking, write more effectively, and engage with complex ideas — while still developing your own voice, ideas, and purpose.

  • Module 4: Campus Resources, Career Skills, and Your Next Steps
Connect with campus-supported tools and resources, identify how AI is being used in your field, and take steps toward integrating AI into your academic and professional goals.
