Dean of Students
The Dean of Students is here to provide:
Student Support – The Dean of Students helps students navigate challenges and connects them with resources to succeed. They uphold community standards, address concerns, and promote student wellness and safety.
Student Engagement – The Dean of Students fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaged campus environment through programs, policies, and events. They create spaces where students can have fun, build community and feel a sense of belonging.
Student Advocacy – The Dean of Students serves as a student advocate, ensuring their voices are heard and needs are addressed while fostering a supportive campus environment. They safeguards students’ right to free expression while promoting a respectful and inclusive campus climate.
The Dean of Students is the main advocate for students outside the classroom, overseeing both student engagement and student support. That means leading areas like Student Involvement, the Student Union, and Associated Students to help build a vibrant campus life, as well as Student Conduct and Ethical Development, Behavioral Intervention, and the Student Ombuds to ensure fairness and well-being. The Dean also coordinates the campus response to expressive activities and upholds freedom of expression, helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaged community where students can thrive.
The Dean of Students is the campus leader who supports students’ success outside the classroom—helping them thrive, solving problems, ensuring fairness, and building a vibrant, respectful community.
